Following on from the successes of Iftar 2012-2014, Faith Associates launched mosqueiftar.com for Ramadan 2015.
Mosque Iftar brought the community together in Ramadan. Faith Associates understands that the Mosque, especially during Ramadan, should be more than a place people come to just pray. It should be the centre point for all Muslims. Having an Iftar at the Mosque, inviting people of all faith and no faith together to experience the unity and opening of a fast is a beautiful experience. Hosting a Mosque Iftar can build relationships with the community. Opening the doors of the Mosque during this special time will show the openness and kindness of Muslim communities all over the UK.
The team behind Mosque Iftar 2015 works to help Mosques & individuals host an Iftar during the holy month of Ramadan. The team have been involved in facilitating Iftar’s since 2012, working with 100’s of Mosques, local authorities & Olympic teams during the 2012 London Olympics. The Mosque Iftar website is an easy platform for Mosques to promote their iftars. It publishes articles, videos and pictures of Iftar events taking place at Mosques to help inspire and encourage others to do the same.
“Mosque Iftar is a brilliant initiative”
Imam Qari Asim from Leeds Makkah Mosque believes the Mosque Iftar project is very important during the month of Ramadan in reaching out & opening the Mosque to the community.
“Our vision of good tends to be far too small. Common good needs to include respect & care for all of Gods creation” He goes on to add, “Mosque Iftar is a fantastic way to share a meal with people from all walks of life & build relationships with them”.
Faith Associates successfully leads the coordination and management of the Iftar2012 Project during the London Olympic games.
In the summer of 2012, the city of London was overjoyed to be welcoming the eyes of the world as athletes from all over descended on the capital to take part in the Summer Olympic Games. As it happened, the holy month of Ramadan coincided with the Olympic Games which provided the Muslim community a fantastic opportunity to show their international guests the welcoming nature of their institutions through the breaking of the fast meal.
Since the success of Iftar 2012, Faith Associates every Ramadan developed the Mosque iftar website as a community hub where people could see what iftar’s are taking place in the area so they could attend and experience the Mosque setting during the month of Ramadan. Mosque iftar project promotes Iftars not just in the UK and around the world, opening up the Mosque space to everyone.
The team have been involved in facilitating Iftar’s since 2012, working with 100’s of Mosques, local authorities & Olympic teams for a number of years. The Mosque Iftar website is an easy platform for Mosques to promote their iftars. It publishes articles, videos and pictures of Iftar events taking place at Mosques to help inspire and encourage others to do the same. The result of the Mosque Iftar project is one that has brought about community cohesion and integration, bringing faith institutions and community members closer together.
