
The aim of the training programme is to introduce child protection/safeguarding issues in Mosques and Madrassahs context. The objective is to develop awareness of, and the ability to act on, concerns about the safety and welfare of children and young people in order to reach as wide an audience as possible within the Muslim communities.
Two examples of the training programme that Faith Associates will offer are:
(1) Half-day course to include:
• Working principles – the 5 outcomes embodied in the children act 2004
• What is child abuse? Explore opinions, attitudes and values
• Definitions of types of abuse and the impact of abuse and neglect
• Identifying indicators of possible abuse
• Systems and processes for safeguarding children
• Dealing with disclosure and identifying how to respond appropriately
(2) One-day course to include:
