A Management Guide for Mosques and Islamic Centres
Faith Associates, pioneers in the Mosque and Madrassah setting, has produced a comprehensive resource guide on Mosque and Islamic Centre Management.
This resource guide, developed by Shaukat Warraich in 2007, for the leadership of these faith institutions, has come about after years of visiting and advising Mosques across the UK. What Faith Associates noticed was that although Mosques remained religious service providers, there was a significant issue of outdated or even non-existent governance structures and a lack of evolving with time or to the needs of a growing community.
The Mosque remains central to the identity and needs of the community and because of this, must ensure that it operates to a high level of professionalism and caters for the changing requirements of those that it serves.
This comprehensive guide looks at 9 key areas:
- The Mosque – Its Structure, Management and Governance
- Policies and Procedures
- Facilities Management
- Staffing and Employment
- Finance and Fundraising
- Communication
- Accountability and Transparency
- Madrassah
- Community Development
In addition to this resource guide, Faith Associates offers a 2 Day Leadership Training programme for Mosque and Islamic Centre leadership and trustees to help further understand and implement the guide.
