In light of what has happened with COVID-19 this year, its amazing to see faith institutions getting involved in these programmes and delivering fun and exciting sessions for children promoting the great sport of Cricket”.
The lead Imam at Hayes Muslim Centre, Imam Arqam, has become the lead activator trained by the ECB to deliver these sessions over the next four weeks – leading cricket drills, exercises and much more.
Encouraging and taking these bespoke cricket programmes to Mosques across the UK fits with Faith Associates’ Beacon Mosque vision – developing and improving the standards of Mosques. Beacon Mosques should be providing services such as All Stars Cricket programmes that improves their quality and variety of service to the community.
It is important to mention the brilliant team at the ECB; Zahra Khamisa, Sangy Theivendra and Justin Preston who have done a brilliant job working to support the Mosque with training, equipment and support in getting this started, especially during the COVID-19 pandemic.
