Faith Associates work in Africa

Faith Associates have been working in partnership with the United Nations Development Program to provide training and support to Muslim communities in Africa. We have partnered with organisations inside these countries to help improve the development and usage of faith institutions and empowering faith leaders. We have a proven track record of community empowerment and building standards across the globe for over 15 years.

Training Peace Makers in Zanziba 2019

Imams

Imams in our community are in fact leaders who may decide which direction the community should take. They are most powerful leaders at the grassroots lever and always politicians beg for their endorsement. 40 Imams have been undergoing extensive training and field exercise on how to be peace maker through their engagement with the community especially through sermon they deliver every Friday and other platform they exercise their leadership in the community. Apart from training and exercise, imams came up with a work plan towards their peace campaign in 2020.

Peace Journalism

A total of 39 journalists from different media house both government and private completed the first training of peace journalism. Majority of them being young and talented, vowed to start practicing peace journalism and will also start passing the knowledge to others. Her Excellency Elizabeth Jacobs the Ambassador of Norway in Tanzania, Sheikh Fadhil Suleiman soraga the advisor to the minister of justice and constitution affairs and Dr Abbas Aruo the director of Cordoba peace Institute of Geneva blessed the closing ceremony.

Civic Education

Training for young people from different Universities and NGOs continued with the subject of mediation after covering dialogue and conflict analysis.60 young people are currently undergoing extensive training in civic education. A group of few selected men, women and youth from different works of life are also undertaking a very interesting and engaging course on Multi Stakeholder dialogue (MSD)
