The Department of Education is seeking views on a draft voluntary safeguarding code of practice for out-of-school settings providers, and associated parental guidance.
This code of practice will effect Madrassah and other faith schools so it is important you submit your views.
The Department for Education is consulting to inform the development and dissemination of a draft voluntary safeguarding code of practice for out-of-school settings (OOSS); and accompanying guidance for parents setting out the key questions they may wish to consider when choosing an out-of-school setting for their child.
There currently is no set safeguarding code of practice for out- of – school setting providers such as supplementary faith schools, however safeguarding rules still apply. It is important that there are defined safeguarding practices for these additional educational settings. Faith Associates welcomes the notion of a safegaurding code for out of school education providers and seeks to support the call for views.
