Saturday 15th October, Faith Associates was invited to attend the 2016 BISCA Awards. The Awards ceremony brings together Imams and Scholars from around the UK to celebrate the hard work and achievements of members of their fraternity. This is the second year in succession that the Awards ceremony has been held.
The BISCA Awards were created as a way of recognising and celebrating the hard work, sacrifice and commitments made by Islamic leaders here in the UK, both male and female, who continually strive for excellence and encourage their communities to uphold a strong sense of civic duty and the will to keep improving and developing.
Faith Associates, via Imams Online, was proud to sponsor the ‘Award for Outstanding Contribution to Youth Work’ that was presented by Shaukat Warraich to Shaykh Imitiyaz Damiel (Founder, Abu Hanifa Foundation).
Held at the Royal Regency in Manor Park, the BISCA Awards bought together a diverse range of Imams and Scholars from across the UK who are involved in all types of community projects and organisations. The Awards ceremony included special guest speakers, Qur’an Recitation and Nasheeds.

- The IADA Award for Outstanding Contribution to Chaplaincy Work.
- The TV One Award for Outstanding Contribution to Community Cohesion.
- The Al-Salam Institute Award for Outstanding Contribution in Education and Teaching.
- The Penny Appeal Award for Outstanding Contribution to Charity Work
- The Imams Online Award for Outstanding Contribution to Youth Work
- The Madani Girls School Award for Outstanding Contribution to Women’s Empowerment
- European Council of Mosques Award for Outstanding Khateeb
- The Beacon Institute Award for Outstanding Contribution to Da’Wah Work
- The BMTV Award for Outstanding Contribution to Media Engagement.
- The IIDR Award for Outstanding Contribution to Education and Research
- The Gift of Knowledge Award for Outstanding Contribution to Publishing
- Outstanding Contribution to Translation Work.
Some of the most prominent award recipients on the night included Imam Adam Kelwick (Outstanding Contribution to Charity Work). Shaykh Imtiyaz Damiel (Outstanding Contribution to Youth Work) and Dr Shaykha Fullar Lahmar (Outstanding Contribution to Women’s Empowerment).
