Faith Associates was proud to announce that it was able to organise its Community Centered Iftar project this Ramadan for the 3rd year in succession.
The IFTAR2014 project saw Faith Associates team up with Mosques from around the UK to organise community collective Iftar gatherings during the holy month of Ramadan. The main focus of the project was to invite the non-Muslim members of communities to feel the warmth and togetherness that is so prevalent during Ramadan.
The Iftar meal is the traditional meal eaten at sunset that indicates the end of the fast for that day. In all Muslim households, this meal is a hub of activity, preperation and goodwill. Faith Associates understood the importance of extending a hand to the non-muslim community and invited them to be a part of the increased spirituality felt during Ramadan.
The project saw very positive particiaption by Mosques from all over the country who got involved and organised Iftar meals for their wider community. The success of the project is seen in the vast numbers that attended and the attendance of dignitaries from the Govenrment, Charity Sectors and Public Institutions such as the Police.
Faith Associates was overwhelmed with the support it received for the project once again and hopes to continue the tradition every Ramadan.
